Options:
Rattle Head: (Shaped Goatskin)
Standard size round head: approximately 3 1/2" in diameter.
Other sizes and shapes available for custom orders; pricing depends on materials requested and intricacy of the work.
All heads are double stitched with extremely strong waxed thread, and guaranteed in case of unnatural breakage. Other types of skin may be available.
Fillings for Rattles:
The fillings are pre-chosen for rattles unless special contents are desired.
Unique items symbolizing various elements, intentions, places or other special requirements such as herbs (such as sage,)
beads, etc. are available upon request -- these can be chosen for you for a bit extra, or you may send them in to be included with consent of the maker.
Rattle Handle Options:
Pacific beach wood -- beautifully shaped and weathered handles, each one unique and remarkable!
Pair handles are each unique, but are chosen to compliment one another for a matched set.
Hardwood dowels -- oak, cherry, etc. available; pricing varies by diameter and type.
Pine dowels -- the standard used for rattles unless another type is specified.
Antler -- each piece is different and powerful. Pair handles are each unique, but are chosen to compliment one another for a matched set.
Other materials available for custom sets, such as metals, clear plexiglass, etc. Inquire for pricing.
Decorative Options:
Rattle heads can be left without decoration or can be painted with any kind of design. Painted heads are protected by an enamel coat.
Handles can be left without decoration, or can have any number of embellishments. Some of these include:
-wrapped leather or deerskin
-beads imbedded or hung
-wrapped wire
-painted or burned designs
-varied colored thread wrapping
-moulded leather shapes or figures
-feathers
-holographic designs (straight dowels only)
